Many of you have your own impression of ImaNewbie. Some think he is a pathetic dork. Others think he is a hero. Well here is what I think about him and what I try to express in my cartoons.
ImaNewbie is not dork. While I do admit he has his problems surviving in UO, I think he represents the 'no challenge too great' spirit in all great men. He is 'Everyman' ... that character that represents the strengths and weaknesses in all of us.
ImaNewbie is indominatable: No matter how many times he dies, no matter how many people cheat or steal from him, he never gives up.
ImaNewbie is the ultimate role-player, speaking in Elizabethan language and truly believing that all those he meet are basically good and honest unless proven to him otherwise by their actions.
ImaNewbie is courageous and bold. No monster is too tough for him to tackle. Whether it is an Ancient Wyrm or the dreaded "Killer Chicken" Ima is ready to lay down his life to rid the world of evil.
ImaNewbie is naive and innocent. Part of the reason he is always being kicked in the head is that he truly believes things will get better. Sort of like believing that they will find a way to end the lag in UO, hehe. How many of us cling to that dream?
ImaNewbie is adventurous. He has that 'I will try anything once' attitude that has resulted in some of the greatest achievements of mankind. Without people like ImaNewbie humankind would have never climbed Mount Everest, walked on the moon, or invented computers so we could all play these silly games.
ImaNewbie is a leader, not a follower. Rather than follow the trend of everyone running around in colored plate or "true black", ImaNewbie dresses his own way and could not care less if people think he looks funny. Have you noticed since ImaNewbie showed up, how many people are running around in brightly colored outfits sporting silly looking hats, funny masks or furry animals on their head? For awhile there the standard dress in UO was a death robe hiding full plate.
So, I could go on like this for hours about ImaNewbie but to sum it up, ImaNewbie is a HERO! If all of us had one tenth of the strength of character that ImaNewbie has, the world would be a better place.
And for those of you who think ImaNewbie is pathetic, I can just say that he has had several marriage proposals and one of the best lines I ever read in a message to my guestbook was the following saying to the world (in full caps) simply this line:
