I can't possibly answer even a percentage of the thousands of emails and guestbook questions I get so what I am trying to do here is answer some of the most commonly and repeatedly asked questions. I hope this helps a bit. I'm sorry it has to be this way and I would like to answer every question personally but then you wouldn't see any new 'toons 'cause all I would be doing is mail.
1. How do you take screenshots?
Press the printscreen key during gameplay then switch to a graphics program like PaintShop Pro and use the Paste command to paste the screen image which can then be saved as a file. Remember if you are planning to display it on a web site then save it as a .jpg (JPEG) file.
2. What software do you use to make your 'toons?
I use Corel PhotoPaint, PaintShop Pro, MS Image Composer, Media House Photostacker and a few others. Each program has some features that it does better than others.
3. I saw ImaNewbie on (xxxxx) Shard. Was that you?
ImaNewbie plays (95%) of the time on Pacific. I have created him on Napa, Sonoma, Great Lakes and Pacific but only take him out for certain Special Events. He is definitely NOT on any other shard. Just head to the main page and check out the section on "The REAL ImaNewbie" to see how to check if it is really me or not. I modified my stand on ImaNewbie imposters lately so I guess if people want to run around looking like him that is OK, I would just prefer that they don't lie to people and pretend they are really me. I value ImaNewbie's rep and honor and don't want it besmirched. If you are gonna look like Ima, try to be cool and keep him in character, Thanks.
4. Who are your other main characters and what Shard do you play on?
My other characters are Tryon, a grandmaster warrior and Elvira, a grandmaster fencer/archer (witch), I play mainly on Pacific and sometimes Napa Valley and can many times be found around the banks in Occlo or Magincia. If you see me, say Hi!
5. Do you use FUSE or UOX to make your 'toons?
Yes, I use both to set up some of the episodes and to add things that I can't get easily in the online game. Carpets in houses, animal heads on the walls, new buildings, etc.
6. Can I be in one of your 'toons?
The quick answer is probably not. My 'toons involve complex scenes and are not usually set up on the spur of the moment. I can't just grab some people in town and say let's go do a 'toon. They have to be certain types of characters, dressed a certain way, etc.
7. Can I put a link on my site to yours?
Sure, as long as your page has something to do with gaming, preferably UO, and does not contain pornography or links to porno sites. My pages are rated PG 13 and I want to keep it that way. I am not trying to say what you can put on your pages, that's your business. I am just saying that I would rather you didn't link me if that's what you are into.
8. Will you link my page to yours?
Right now I am trying to limit my links to Cartoon specific UO pages and the main UO info sites. If you have a comic page send me the URL but don't expect a link until you have been up and running and gained some popularity. Just 'cause you publish one or two 'toons doesn't mean you are in it for the long haul and I hate to send people to a page just to find that they did two 'toons and then quit.
9. I sent you an idea, why haven't you used it?
I get hundreds of ideas every week from visitors to my site and I save them all in a big file. I put them together with my own ideas and decide on a 'toon to do that I think will be funny at the time. If you haven't seen your idea used yet then stay 'tooned! It might just be 'Coming Soon'.
10. You used my idea for a 'toon. Why didn't I get credit?
Some of my 'toons have been suggested by at least fifty people. Other ideas come in like: 'Do one about ImaNewbie and Mining'. If you sent an idea and didn't get a credit....YOU know you sent it and I know you sent it, so give yourself a pat on the back and leave it at that.
